Daywitness does not collect any data about you. There is no account, no server of ours, no analytics and no advertising code in the app. Your locations and your days stay on your iPhone.

What stays on your iPhone

Locations. If you allow location access, the app records where you are a few times a day and when you arrive at or leave a place, using Apple's low-power location services. These records are stored only on your iPhone. The app turns them into a country, state or city with a map that is built into the app; it does not send your coordinates to Apple, to us or to anyone else.
Days and stays you add, counters you choose, answers to rule questions, people you add (a name only) and your settings.

Your iCloud (optional)

If iCloud backup is on, a backup file is saved in your own iCloud Drive, in the app's private folder. It is stored by Apple under your Apple ID; we have no access to it. You can turn it off in Settings › Backup.

Files you share

Reports (PDF, CSV) and backup files are created on your iPhone and go only where you choose to send them with the iOS share sheet.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase are sold and managed by Apple. We receive no payment details. The app only checks with the App Store whether you have an active subscription or the Lifetime purchase.

Notifications

Reminders and alerts are scheduled on your iPhone. No push service is used.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on your iPhone. A backup in your iCloud Drive can be deleted in iPhone Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage.

Children

Daywitness is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Daywitness counts days. It is not tax, immigration or legal advice.
